Margaret Lake is a moderately popular destination near Snoqualmie Pass. By mid-November, deep snow transforms this landscape into a winter wonderland that sees far fewer visitors. The first half of the route follows an old Forest Service road and trail before reaching a beautiful old-growth forest near the top of the ridge. From the ridge crest, you descend about 340 vertical feet to the lake, which is tucked into a pocket below Mount Margaret. Overall, this is a great destination to explore the lakes and forests of the central Cascades.
