Beginning in Winter Park, CO, we take US 40 East over Berthoud Pass. The road over this 11,306 foot pass offers dramatic views of the surrounding mountains as it utilizes several large switchbacks to wind its way over the pass. We drop down to Interstate 70 and head east through Idaho Springs to the Central City Parkway. We head up this winding road to the town of Central City. We drive around town for a few minutes before heading to the bordering town of Black Hawk.
