Ok, a bit overkill I can admit that ;-) Bushcraft Origami! But when I ate the steak and pasta, I could not feel the backpack on my back hiking to the car the next day. If you would take a small lightweight alu pan instead, the difference maybe would not be noticeable in weight, but to not have the space in the pack for cookware was super nice. I was able to fit everything inside the pack which is very practical when you walk off trail like I do. The backpack don't get stuck in branches and stuff in difficult terrain. And after I ate I just squeezed the tinfoil into a small ball and threw it in my bag. So no dishes! I hate doing dishes in weather like this. Had no water (stream, lake) nearby. I love pans and cookware of course and will use them in my regular outings. This was just an idea to completely put the lightweight hike in focus, and still being fed and comfortable!
The Pack: Gregory Z65 backpack, 10X10 ripstop polyester tarp with cordage, Marmot goose down sleeping bag with cotton cover, foam sleeping mat, reflective wind shield cover, Mora 711 knife, Bahco Laplander folding saw, small bottle with cooking oil, matches, ferro rod, tinfoil sheets, PET bottle, first aid kit, wooden fork, 1 steak, freeze dried pasta (two meals), salt.
