Hello and thanks for watching my first Chrono Trigger harp cover! :D
I think I've gotten requests for CT since I first started my channel, but since I had never played it (I got into gaming in the Gamecube era, never even had a Gameboy), I wasn't really familiar enough to be inspired to cover it.
But, at the beginning of this year I played it for the first time on my Steam deck and can finally say I have played this classic JRPG, haha!
If you want my honest thoughts, well... I can totally appreciate why it was so influential at the time, and I can see how it has continued to influence games even now. But, playing it in 2024, almost 30 years after it originally released, and having played many games that have expanded on and improved on the concepts from Chrono Trigger, it didn't floor me. I didn't really have any moments of WOW! or OMG! But on the whole I enjoyed it. I liked the first half or so more than the last half and Frog was my favourite character.
Anyway. Wind Scene/600 A.D. was definitely my favourite song on the OST, and it seemed like the natural choice when Chrono Trigger tied for first in a recent poll I did on my community tab to see what song to cover this month. (Octopath and CT ended up tying, it was neck and neck!)
Sheet music is coming (I was a bit slow submitting it, oops), and there are intermediate pedal and lever harp versions, as well as a late-beginner version that's playable on any kind of harp.
