Willy Alberti (oktober 14,1926 - februari 18, 1985)
Willy Alberti started in 1939 as a succesfull child-star in some operettas in his beloved home town Amsterdam. Growing older, most of those children are not able to continue their sucesses. Not so Willy Alberti (whose real name was Willy Verbruggen). In 1948,Willy Alberti was just 22 y.o., he made his first record: two songs in his beloved Italian language : La Spagnola and Chi sse ne scorda cchiu. Why italian songs ? Willy admired the repertoire of singers such as Tito Schipa, Beniamino Gigli and Claudio Villa. With his voice he was able to create the same atmosphere of bleu skys, red wine, beautiful girls and a golden sun. However his greatest success he obtained with Dutch songs, of whitch he made hunderds of records , in the second half of his carreer together with his gifted daughter Willeke. Yet sometimes he followed his heart and recorded again some light Italian songs.
About 1973/74 his hopes were realized: he made two LP's with operafragments and classical italian songs: CNR 655.062 and CNR 655.064.
