Documentary filmmaker William Greaves discusses his latest project, Ralph Bunche: An American Project. He then reflects on his early life in Harlem and the influence of Oscar Micheaux's films and the "race film" exhibition circuit on his career. Prior to his esteemed tenures at National Education Television and the National Film Board of Canada, Greaves worked as an actor. He shares stories on his time at Actor's Studio, his friendship with Marlon Brando, his role in the 1949 Broadway play Lost in the Stars, and his disillusionment with theater which prompted his work in anti-racism and educational television.
