Willa Cather is among the most celebrated American novelists of the first half of the twentieth century. Seen as a regional writer for decades after her passing, critics have increasingly identified Cather as a canonical American writer, the peer of authors like Hemingway, Faulkner and Wharton. The Modernists are hosting a reception and lecture with Rachel Olsen, Director of Education and Engagement at The National Willa Cather Center, discussing Cather's novel “One of Ours,” winner of the 1923 Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
