Wild Turkey's Master's Keep has wrapped up, and taking its place is the Austin Nichols Archives Series. The first in the the series is a tribute to the ever popular "Cheesy Gold Foil", named by the fans for the cheesy looking gold foil label on the bottles that were originally made in the '80s and '90s. Whereas those bottles were 12 years old and 101 proof, this new Gold Foil Edition is 16 years old and 120 proof, as a one-to-one comparison was not the point of this release. Blended entirely by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, a 3rd generation Wild Turkey employee, and son and grand-son of Master Distillers Eddie and Jimmy Russell, respectively, this blend of all 16 year barrels came from the Camp Nelson campus and utilized liquid from three warehouses. An exact bottle count is not known, but it will be a similar release size as previous Master Keep releases - somewhere in the tens of thousands of bottles, and has a retail price of $400.
