Elijah Craig 21 Year is back! It's a single barrel, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that is, you guessed it, 21 years old. It's 94° and has a suggested retail price of $299.99. It is available at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center in Bardstown, KY along with 1,789 bottles that will be distributed through out select retailers. Here's some additional information we received from the distillery:
"The Elijah Craig 21 Year is a mingling of barrels drawn from several Heaven Hill Distillery warehouse locations, each contributing something distinct to the final profile.
Barrels were pulled from a range of sites, including Heaven Hill (H2), Schenley (LL) on an upper floor which resulted in a dump proof around 128, and additional smaller warehouse locations across our aging network. That variety of environments, including different elevations, building materials, and microclimates, is part of what gives the 21 Year its depth and complexity.
What makes this release especially notable is that each barrel was individually tasted by our master taster in the lab before selection, which is not standard practice and reflects the care that goes into curating something at this age."
