Step back to the future with a look at the 2004 Wired NextFest. This exhibition of global innovations has been showcasing prototypes that have sought to transform our world since the first Next Fest event in San Francisco in 2004. Through this look at 2004 interactive art and games, sustainable design (GM's hydrogen powered fuel cell vehicles - the Autonomy, the high wire and the HydroGen3), next generation healthcare, crypto, bots, humanistic robotics (Kbot robotic head which realistically mimics human facial expressions), and ... the digital paper clip ... we can explore the impact of these digital technologies on our lives today.

Which 2004 innovative designs have transformed us, which ones could we live without, and which didn't make the cut, but could have been fun?
