I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve used this song now, but this one HAD to be done! As soon as I thought of it, I started a new project file. It was a little hard since I still associate it with one of my dogs who passed away in September 2021, but it’s been better. It still hurts even after all this time, but the love I had for him is stronger. Even so, this is definitely still “our” song.
Anyway, I loved Wild Robot! It’s my second fave film of the year close behind Sonic 3 (which I’ve already seen twice) I know it was based on a book, but the similarities to HTTYD are almost uncanny. It’s more like how to train your gosling, lol! So beautifully animated and it tells a beautiful story! Roz and Brightbill also had a lot of similarities with Hiccup and Toothless.
That scene when Brightbill takes off to migrate…gosh, my heart! That’s why this movie deserves this song! The only other thing I have to say is that I think he should have called her Mom again by the end. Especially that line “but you can call me…Roz”…it should have been Mom! I’m a stickler for small things like that and have a similar issue with Sonic 3. Just let them be parents!!
I focused mostly on Roz and Brightbill in this vid, but also wanted to include Fink and the other animals. They’re all family!
