Back at it with an absolute bop of a track from everyone's favorite yeehaw western themed JRPG! And uploaded for Women's History Month in honor of the amazing composer (and a wonderful all-women musician team playing on this track!)

So fun fact - Wild Arms didn't get a complete soundtrack release for like a decade (and after the remake came out!) and this track was not on the original abridged OST. Back in the day we had to share MP3s of game audio rips for what wasn't on CD.
So you may know this theme by the "what do we call it oh it's the song that plays in Port Timney so Port Town Theme ah yes that's perfect" word of mouth naming convention from the earlier days like me, "A Waterside Where Migratory Birds Gather" as listed on the complete OST and what's out on streaming, or maybe "Rows of Houses" from the Alter Code F OST which is an arrangement of this motif.
Anyway enough about me babbling about Wild Arms music - this is such a fun little tune and 3000% likely to be stuck in your head. I wanted to lean into the port/seaside vibe more than the original so I asked AC if she would break out the ukulele which was super fun! V-Ron as always helped so much with knowing what percussion makes sense 😅 While it was originally intended for flute, we opted for piccolo instead partially due to range but the picc gave a really cool timbre that fits the vibe so well!
(also catch some nods to other Wild Arms tunes slipped into the clarinet lines gosh I love this soundtrack so much)
Fans of the games know there's a lot of bird imagery used in the game so had to include some cute seaside birdies in the video!
