After finishing up patch 5.5 (I'm not crying you're crying) I got this idea in my head for this cover...... one of the more unique instrument combos in the VGM cover community. Luckily Ragnaou is also a big FFXIV fan - and as you can see in the video, a fellow tank main - and was happy to come aboard!
Originally I was considering borrowing my sister's old flute but I'm not as comfortable on flute as I am recorder, and the latter gave a timbre that I felt paired better with the music box. We also discovered late in the process that the music box was tuned to Ab and not C, which required a sheet music transposition and switching from tenor to alto partway through.
Unfortunately we're on different continent data centers so we couldn't get footage of our characters together (he's the Hyur and I'm the Lalafell!) but we both got some some of the gorgeous sights of Norvrandt - Lakeland, the Crystal Tower, Il Mheg, and Amaurot.
