If your dog only reacts when you are around, the trigger may not be the other dog, the car, or the person walking by.

You might be the variable.

That does not mean you are a bad owner, but it does mean the relationship needs to be audited. Lack of structure, lack of leadership, lack of accountability, and letting the dog do whatever they want can create a dog that feels insecure, vulnerable and unsure when you are in the picture.
