"This is precisely why Allah reminds us that al-hikmah, "wisdom," is a true gift, a true blessing. It cannot be simply assumed, and it cannot be presumed. It cannot be thought to exist by the very nature of things, but it must be pursued. It must be diligently achieved. It must be accomplished in the same way that you accomplish al-Sirat al-Mustaqim, the straightforward, the righteous, the true and honest path. You accomplish it because it is the exception, not the rule.
