Framing veganism as too complex and complicated favors the status quo, partially due to a phenomenon known as the fluency bias / heuristic. When major left-wing figures like David Pakman, Hasan Piker, and Destiny implicitly (and sometimes explicitly) employ the tactic of casting veganism as complicated, they subtly favor a lack of behavior change. Everything can be complicated if you take a microscope to it, even rock, paper, scissors, but that doesn’t mean its not simple at bottom. Are there gray areas to veganism? Sure. But in the main, it’s the most ethically simple decision you can make.
