Spoilers will forever be a thorn in my backside, and yours too most likely, even though we don't share a backside.... haha... unless? We've all had a movie, tv show, game or zoetrope spoiled for us, and while it might not completely ruin the media for you, it certainly deflates your excitement to see it. Some of the most famous spoilers are from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, which goes to show how much that dang old mouse has a chokehold on our media consumption. Game of Thrones was also a prime target for spoilers, forcing you to unplug and avoid social media until you could warp pipe home (gamer reference, you might not get it) and experience the episode properly. Thankfully, HBO decided to release us from this curse by creating an ending that was like eating a nice Cornetto where the final bite of extra chocolate was replaced with maggots and spit. This video explores a variety of curious stories and anecdotes from the history of spoilers, from people screaming Harry Potter spoilers to fans in line for the final book, to the wacky ways companies try and stop their works from being leaked.
