Derek Van Schaik | Why those who are elderly fall @DerekVanSchaik | Uploaded June 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Why is that if you become elderly you will fall more often?
The sad reality is that if you are fortunate enough to live into an old age, you will likely experience an increase in falling. This is because of a combination of muscle weakness, reduced flexibility, atrophy in the brain specifically in the cerebellum for balance and coordination, arthritis, visual impairments, previous injuries, dizziness caused by disorders and medication side-effects.
To the President or anyone who is elderly that falls, falling is nothing to be ashamed of. He’s still walking around well at 80 years old which is impressive; however, should someone who is 80+ years old be President is for you, the voters, to decide.
And to be fair, I’ve noticed the former President has been repeating himself a little more than usual, which is typically also a sign of aging.
Aging is one of those things that really sucks, but oddly it’s only those who are “lucky” that get to do it.
