When asked, "Why should we hire you?" many candidates ramble. Here’s how to stand out in 3 steps:
🍊 Say what you understand about the role.
“Based on my understanding, you’re looking for someone who can do X, Y, Z.”
Spell out the key responsibilities.
🍊Match your experience.
“In my past roles, I’ve done that. For example - A, B, C..."
🍊Check that you articulated the role correctly.
“Is that how you see this role? Anything you'd add?”
That last step is magic.
If you nailed it, they’ll agree.
If you missed something, they’ll clarify, and you get the chance to course-correct in real time.
Instead of fumbling through, you’re leading a conversation about the role, not just answering questions.
PS: I have a free Unshakable Interviews Masterclass that teaches you powerful interview techniques that make hiring managers feel urgency to hire you.
