Should tackle football for children be banned? Chris Nowinski, the co-founder of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, thinks so. That's why he helped lawmakers in New York create a bill that would ban tackle football for kids under 12. In addition to that bill being introduced, a similar one from IL lawmaker Carol Sente was introduced as well, House Bill 4341 or the #DaveDuersonAct to Prevent CTE, named after Chicago Bear Dave Duerson, who is believed to have suffered from CTE, causing him to take his own life. In an attempt to create change and push the conversation forward, Duerson's teammate, Otis Wilson, appeared at a press conference to voice his support. “There are a lot of individuals that have this issue and the more research that’s being done—hopefully we’ll have something to combat it," he said.
