In 2010 shadow people were listed as one of the most regularly reported types of paranormal phenomena in the United States - and researcher David Weatherly says the reports have only escalated since. In this full interview from the Tracie Austin Show, the author of 'Strange Intruders' lays out what these entities actually are: humanoid forms described as blacker than the darkness of the room around them, appearing without invitation, watching from the foot of the bed, and vanishing into closets that hold nothing at all.
Then the cases turn physical. Weatherly walks through the encounter of a man who had drifted away from his spiritual path, began seeing a shadow form moving through his home, and one evening felt something reach out from beneath his bed and close around his ankles. He was pulled to the floor. He looked down and saw hands as black as night, and a pair of glowing eyes in the head of whatever was underneath. What finally stopped it is the detail nobody expects.
In the second half, Weatherly describes his own sighting of the grinning man - a figure in an old-fashioned long coat and top hat standing on a remote canal road, wearing a grin he says is not physically possible on a human face. Time appeared to slow as their car drifted past. Seconds later the figure was standing in the center of the road behind them, in a place he could not have reached, and then the road was empty.
