The Hopi say that when the world was destroyed by a great flood, help did not come from the sky - it came from beneath their feet. Giant ant beings opened the ground, brought them down into a whole society already stocked with food, and kept them alive for generations until the surface was safe again. Journalist and shamanic practitioner Debbie Dashinger went looking for the story expecting folklore and found something far stranger.
This conversation moves from the Hopi ant people to the Dogon of Mali, a remote culture that described the Sirius binary system in 3200 BC - including a companion star invisible to the naked eye that Western astronomers did not confirm until the 1900s.
