The newscasts today are full of jarring accounts of war and violence, making it seem like dharma is being overwhelmed nowadays. Yet, social science, technology and the Bhagavad Gita all show very clearly that dharma has been and will continue to increase.

In chapter 4 of the Gita, Sri Krishna says that he incarnates himself on this planet whenever dharma wanes away. Yet Sri Krishna also says, again and again, that he dwells in the heart of every person. So, Sri Krishna is already here! He is already working, behind the scenes so to speak, to restore peace and dharma throughout the world. How? Through our own dharmic deeds.

It's true that the deeds of some people are terribly adharmic. Yet, the deeds of the vast majority of people are indeed dharmic. Why? Because of Ishvara's intelligent order. The nature of the world as it has been created is to constantly develop and grow. For this reason, we are created in such a way that our deeds that contribute to the world's development and growth, according to Ishvara's intelligent order.
