Bi racial or multi racial people usually have to identify with the lowest ranking racial group from which they have ancestry.
Basically, not only did white America tell black people that we were black but they told us how black; there's racism hidden in history and in the numbers, and it was already hard for people to find their identity when you're bi racial or multi racial; even more so when youre BIPOC mixed with white.
