A while back I saw a question from someone new to composting, asking if it was normal that their compost bin contents seemed to be shrinking. It's a good question and it prompted this video.
I took a pumpkin and set it aside for 8 months. The idea was to have a look at how much it had reduced by through the composting process and how much water I would have added to a worm bin had I just added the pumpkin whole. If you're new to composting with worms, it can be a head scratching moment to figure how how and why your worm bin seems to be so wet all the time. I also take a look at the moisture content of some of the most common food scraps that are typically added to worm bins and compost piles.
I hope you find this video interesting and useful. As always thanks for watching, and if you can like, subscribe, comment and share, it would be very much appreciated - it makes the worms very happy :)
