In this week with the Comic Lads, we discuss why we believe Alfred Pennyworth is the most important Bat Family character. Back in the now-infamous 'City of Bane' story arc by Tom King, Alfred Pennyworth was murdered in cold blood by the eponymous villain. Since then, the Bat-Books have taken a darker, less hopeful turn and we believe it can all be traced back to the absence of Batman's most trusted friend and ally: Alfred.
