For years, Katie Jacobson was a Christian looking for a worshipping community that she could call home. She visited mainline churches, evangelical churches, and even started attending membership classes with Jehovah's Witnesses and Latter Day Saints just so she could hear what they believed in their own words.

When she decided to check out the Catholic Church, she thought it would be the same kind of experience as those other congregations -- but something happened there that completely redefined her entire concept of what a church is and what it means to be a part of one.
