Shen Yun performers describe theater threats and added security as a recurring part of touring in the United States. They say they have continued performing while carrying concerns about their safety and about how allegations against the company have affected their families.
One related case has reached federal court. Two Los Angeles residents pleaded guilty to acting as agents of the Chinese government and bribing a purported IRS official in a scheme targeting the tax-exempt status of an entity run by Falun Gong practitioners. The guests identify the case as one documented part of what they describe as a wider campaign against Shen Yun.
Steve Lance, executive producer at Sincere Pictures, and Levi Browde, executive director of the Falun Dafa Information Center, join Shen Yun principal dancer Lucas Browde and principal violist Rachel Chen. They examine the filmmakersโ investigation and what the performers say they have experienced while touring.
