In this video, I dive into the "infuriating" discovery I made while searching for a wheel alignment service for my Tesla Model 3. After noticing uneven tire wear during a seasonal tire swap, I reached out to local shops in Denmark, including Super Dæk Service, only to find a massive price discrepancy. While a standard internal combustion engine (ICE) or hybrid car might be charged roughly 865 Danish Krone (€110-130) for an alignment, EV owners are often forced to pay nearly double the price. The shops claim electric cars require 60 minutes of labor compared to the standard 30 minutes for gas cars, yet they offer no logical explanation for this requirement. I argue that this pricing model is fundamentally dishonest, as many ICE vehicles weigh more than a Model 3 and certain luxury gas cars have far more complex suspensions. Rather than paying this "EV tax," I opted for a manual adjustment and a bit of extra tire wear.
