I'm a Tesla owner in Denmark, and in this video I'm ranting about my experience with Tesla's latest Autopilot update. Recently, I got an unfair "strike" from the new Autopilot Beta system just for glancing at my car's touchscreen to check my speedometer (there's no head-up display, so I have to look at the center screen!). Tesla's new driver-monitoring camera thought I wasn't paying attention to the road and penalized me. This was not a feature when I bought my car, and it caught me by surprise. In this critical review, I explain how Tesla's "5 strikes and you're out" system nearly disabled Autopilot for me. The cabin camera now watches the driver, and if it thinks you're distracted five times, you lose Autopilot access (it even called my basic lane-keep Autopilot a "Beta" now). I talk about how this update has made Autopilot practically unusable for me. The constant steering wheel nags (having to jiggle the wheel to prove I'm awake) and even occasional phantom braking make driving more stressful, not less. This is a huge disappointment because Autopilot used to be one of the fun features of my Tesla. As a Tesla owner in Denmark, I also mention how our aggressive driving culture makes Autopilot struggle. (Even the so-called "Mad Max" mode for lane changes couldn't handle Danish highways!) With these new restrictions and strikes, I've actually turned off the lane-keeping Autopilot feature because I refuse to risk getting banned from a feature I paid for. It's frustrating that Tesla changed the rules years after purchase – what was once a helpful driver-assist is now a source of anxiety. I still love driving my Tesla, but I'm not happy with how the Full Self-Driving/Autopilot system has evolved. In fact, it feels like it's gotten worse with recent updates, not better.
