I left the business world after an especially ugly experience with an employer that left me with permanent scars and made me question everything.
Thankfully, I believe God led me to horse rescue. I had no idea more than 130,000 American healthy, trained, sound horses were shipped to slaughter in foreign countries each year. I related to the horses we rescued on a deep level, after feeling "dumped" by younger co-workers and employers as outdated, old and no longer useful.
Helping these beautiful creatures through their healing process also helped me to heal, and helped me to focus on the things that truly matter in life - trust, truth and love.
This is a fun look at the characteristics I wish more people had, and that every horse has in its DNA. These traits are the reason my days fly by as I toil and sweat to ensure these horses have a bright future.
