A question the media seems to be baffled by is how in the world anyone could possibly still support someone like Donald Trump to be president of The United States. They focus heavily on policy, talk about how much Joe Biden has been able to accomplish and how many felonies Trump has, but they still can't seem to wrap their heads around what could possibly be going through the minds of this larger-than-expected group.
The truth is, there are many reasons, but the main two as far as I can tell are 1. They don't trust the system or politicians at all and want to see the whole thing burn down OR 2. They feel like if they were to admit Trump wasn't a good person and shouldn't be president, it would somehow mean they were a bad person for supporting him. The first group is more or less a lost cause, but the second one deserves some serious thought and reflection.
Supporting a mad-man doesn't make you a bad person, it only means you supported a bad idea. This is an important difference, because humans are hard-wired to connect our ideas with our person, and we can struggle to detach what we believe with who we are.
