Your body has the ability to produce strong acid on demand in your stomach. This acid is also called gastric acid. To produce gastric acid, your body has to get acid from elsewhere in your body (usually from your blood). By puking, it leaves your body through your mouth and is thus erased from your body, which rises your blood pH again (which means less acid in your body), leaving room for more lactate to be produced ( = you can workout with high intensity again). The exact mechanisms are a lot more complex though. Feel free to ask further questions if anything is unclear! :)
