In this Video, John Rose takes a closer look at Why Bad Things Happen To Good People. John answers this question with the help of Socrates, Epictetus and Tolstoy.
John starts off looking at this question the way Socrates would look at it and according to Socrates, some of the Bad things that are happening to people aren’t happening to Good people - they’re actually happening to Bad people.
John then looks at this question the way Epictetus would look at it and according to Epictetus, there are 3 Main Types of Problems - there are those Problems or those Bad things that happen to us that are 100% Within our Control and then, there are those Bad things that happen to us where we have Limited Control and then, there are those Bad things that happen to us where we have No Control whatsoever.
John finally looks at this question the way Tolstoy would look at it and Tolstoy basically said the same thing that Socrates said and that is that we Live to Eat. According to Tolstoy, after a certain age in our society that’s all we do - everything we do focuses around Eating - When to Eat - What to Eat - Where to Eat.
As always, John offers a simple Solution to those Bad things that happen to us that are 100% Within our Control and John’s Solution is the same as Tolstoy’s Solution and that’s a Solid Food Vacation, except John’s Solid Food Vacation is on Juices and Tolstoy’s Solid Food Vacation was on Water.
