Tech Tangents II | Why CRTs Make My Hands Glow on Video @techtangentsii | Uploaded March 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
I get this question a lot so I figured I would address it once here.
It's all down to my filming lights, and my editing. The filming lights are unreasonably bright for a CRT. They blow it out completely. But I need them for the camera to pick up everything in the scene well. So I edit the video to make the CRT appear more like it should if I wasn't using extremely bright lights. It's purely to balance out issues caused by the process of filming them.
