Why Are FF7 Remake Fans Completely Deranged? Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth & Revelation are part of the FF7R trilogy by Square Enix, that seeks to butcher, rewrite and retcon the real FF7 (1997) by Squaresoft. The first game was a bait-n-switched that tanked both sales and hype for what should have been the greatest modern JRPG of all time. It also spawned one of the most insane, dishonest, and toxic fandoms in existence. Here we see one of these lunatics in action. Orion85 described it the best - no matter where you are on the internet, if you say you don't like FF7 "Remake", it's like putting on The One Ring in Lord of the Rings and drawing heaps of Nazguls to your location, screeching at you to stop. Which is unhinged. If someone says they don't like my favorite game, I still like it. But when someone says they don't like FF7R, FF7R fans think that means they're not allowed to like it.
