Don't you wish you had an electric car? One that you could charge up at home or at work for nickels while helping decrease our demand for oil from unstable, unfriendly nations? And not some little golf cart, a regular-sized car that needed almost no maintenance, was perfect for commuting, outperformed most gas-powered cars, and generated none of the pollution that threatens both are personal and planetary health? In 1996, General Motors made such a car, the EV1, and leased it to several hundred drivers who quickly fell in love with it.
