Red Bull have been nothing short of spectacular when it comes to pit stop strategies. This season, we’ve seen them jumping places on the grid just by utilizing their strategies better than the other teams. Last year, we’ve seen Verstappen cutting 3.5 seconds of the lead to Hamilton in the French GP just by going in for a tyre change earlier. After that, he went in the pit stop from P1, just to come and overtake Hamilton on much fresher tyres. However, the Hungarian GP this year saw Verstappen jumping from P10 to P1, and a huge part of that goes to the strategist. So, who is the mastermind behind this project?
What many people will be pleased to hear is that the strategist is a female, meaning that their place in this sport isn’t as neglected as many would think. Hannah Schmitz is the race strategist of both Verstappen and Perez. When you look at her educational background, you’d notice how Red Bull wants to pick the best from the best available!
