First, Ezra McCandless shows up at a rural Wisconsin farmhouse in torn clothes. She is cold, confused, bruised, and has the word "boy" scraped into her arm. Then, the body of 24-year-old Alex Woodworth is found in her car, left on the side of the road nearby. He's been stabbed, 16 times, and left for dead. Clearly, these are two pieces of the same puzzle... but Ezra says she can't remember what happened. When a third party comes into play some suspect Alex may be the victim of a love triangle gone wrong. Was he killed in self-defense during a passionate fight or is something more sinister at the heart of this mystery?
