Meritocracy, or gerontocracy? There's a place for taking age and experience into consideration, and it's usually worth factoring in to some degree. But what really matters is what you can do and how you do it -- not a resume, not an arbitrary time period, and not simply age. Maine and The Edgerunners know this, and they also know that they'd fail completely if they didn't stick to judging the important stuff. Why doesn't everyone do it like this?
