The animation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem might be modern, but its basic plot is centuries old: the choice between resentment and goodness was delineated by Adam Smith in his 1759 "Theory of Moral Sentiments," in which Smith details that humanity -- and mutated turtles, apparently -- should strive to act in such a way that those around them value and praise.

The alternative is Superfly's tactic of revenge, and while the motivations for it might be understandable, we've known for centuries that it just doesn't pay off.
