White Sand South Geyser
Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA).
“White Sand South Geyser” is a nickname applied to an otherwise-unnamed geyser about 7 meters southeast of White Sand Spring in the southwestern Black Sand Basin of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. It is not certain when this feature appeared, but I first heard it reported in fall 2017. White Sand South Geyser appears to have a moderately small, subcircular basin. Observed activity involves frequent, very low to moderately low splashing.
