I recently participated in a walk to mark White Cane Safety Day (October 15th) This day is also known as White Cane Awareness Day, White Cane Safety Day and Blind Americans Equality Day. This day is a chance for those in the blind and visually impaired community to make our presence known to the general population and to present our need for accessibility wherever and whenever possible.
While I had heard of this day I'd never participated in anything like this so it was interesting to go and experience this myself. I also ran into another YouTuber who was also documenting the event. Go check out Jon's channel Being Blind Works.
