In this clip from episode 987, Richard is in Copenhagen with a new unopened bottle of (smoky, but not peaty) Danish whisky! Mr. Campbell first describes the origin of barley in the marshy northwestern area of Thy, all the way back to Doggerland 10,000+ years ago! Afterwards, he moves onto the story of the Thy Whisky Distillery, which dates back to 1773 in Denmark's Gyrup farm estate. The distillery uses an unusual combination still that combines pot & column aspects to fill 1 cask per day during operation.
