By looking at the markings on the exhaust, heat shield and exhaust gasket on your chainsaw, (this particular saw is a Husqvarna Chainsaw)you will find clues as to where they need to be put back together.
Looking closely you will see markings from the components that fix to them. For example, if you take a look at the heat shield, you will see which way round to put this because there will be markings specific to the exhaust side and the manifold side.
The size and shape of each of the markings will tell you where thongs go.
