When we think about fighting enemy radars and anti-aircraft defense, we think about Wild Weasel aircraft armed with specialist anti-radiation missiles. During the Operation Desert Storm, the Coalition's main aircraft assigned to this task was F-4G Wild Weasel Phantom. Although the venerable Phantom performed exceptionally well in its last major conflict, it was another aircraft which eliminated no less than twenty-six Iraqi early-warning radar sites and opened large holes in Iraqi situational awareness picture, thus allowing Coalition strike packages to enter Iraqi airspace undetected.
