#shorts This question gets so many candidates disqualified: "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
On the surface, it feels like this question is asking you about your career ambitions.
When really, the underlying question is:
"Do you want this job long term? Or are you going to leave as soon as something you're more passionate about comes along?"
Your answer could get you disqualified.
Companies want to make sure that this isn't just a career experiment for you. The last thing they want to do is train you and then struggle to retain you.
Your answer needs to be in line with the role you're interviewing for.
The key: don't mention job titles.
