When was the Declaration of Independence signed?
Was it in the year 1776 or 1766?
I compare the Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary app to the printed version, and there appears to be a discrepancy.
And that’s why I have a printed version instead of just relying on the app.
I have this app on my iPhone for the “Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary”.

When you look up the word “Independence” it says at the bottom of the definition:
“Declaration of Independence,the solemn declaration of the Congress of the United States of America, on the 4th of July 1766, by which they formally renounced their subjection to the government of Great Britain.”
Wait a minute. What? 1766? But I thought it was 1776?
I’VE BEEN LIED TO MY WHOLE LIFE!
But I have a printed version of this same dictionary. It was expensive. It cost about $50 on Amazon back when I bought it years ago. Now the price has been raised to $67.

Some people have asked me “Why would you spend so much money to buy the printed version when you can just look it up online?”
Well, when I look it up in the printed version, it correctly says 1776, like it’s supposed to.
The App has a typo. The app makers messed up. And that’s a pretty important typo if you ask me.
And that’s why I have a printed version instead of just relying on the app. Also, it looks better when making videos anyway.
