What does it take to move a 7-metre-long scientific instrument from one country to another?
Months of planning, coordination and a dedicated team.
Yesterday, we inaugurated the JRC Science Surface Lab in its new home at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Previously located at our Karlsruhe site, moving this unique facility was a complex process.
It was made possible thanks to the close cooperation of scientists, engineers and technical experts from the JRC, the Institute of Physics and our partners. Take a look at some of the key moments above!
The Science Surface Lab will remain accessible to researchers across Europe through our open access programme, continuing to support innovation and strengthen scientific collaboration in Europe.
