At our European Laboratory for Structural Assessment (ELSA), scientists like *Daniel Pohoryles* test the safety of buildings and structures against earthquakes, as well as other natural and man-made hazards.
Daniel is one of them. He and his team work at the reaction wall facility at our site in Ispra, a unique infrastructure in Europe, where they recreate earthquake forces and test full-scale buildings. Their work is crucial to help ensure that we can all feel safe in our homes, schools, public offices, and other buildings.
